East Rankin Patriots
By Your Guy @ EYCraig, I really like your mascot, man! My school mascot was a chicken with a diploma in its beak, so yours really rocks compared to that. Tell us about the school and its history with branding, etc.
Craig Slay:
As a small, private Christian school with limited resources, an upgrade in the school's branding would have to be the financial and legwork responsibility of individuals who had a heart for the school's purposes and vision. The volunteers who serve on the school's Board of Directors, who already possess a natural inclination to help the school, were a natural fit for the duty. As a member of the Board, I undertook the responsibility of locating the right source to help us upgrade and update the school's public persona with a logo design that captured the heart and soul of the school. The school's existing brand was so outdated that it had become a negative influence.
Your Guy @ EY:
They sorta say the same thing about me around the studio, so I can relate. How'd you decide to hire EYStudios to create your mascot?
Craig:
I've known the founder of EYStudios for several years and have grown to trust the expertise and creative ability of his people to take any initial idea, no matter how ill-defined it may be initially, and through a process of dialogue and controlled refinement arrive at the desired outcome. The integrity of the people at EY Studios is exemplary. I have been extremely pleased with the responsive of the staff to our inquiries and requests. Very customer oriented!
Your Guy @ EY:
So, what did you have in mind for the mascot?
Craig:
Our mascot is the Patriot. Our initial idea was to take the theme of the Patriot logo that would be familiar to most professional football fans and refine it so that the outcome would be uniquely our school's logo.
Your Guy @ EY:
What did EYStudios bring to the table that assisted in the creation of the Patriot mascot?
craig:
Where EYStudios assistance became invaluable was in seeing beyond the initial design idea to incorporate additional thematic touches, such as the introduction of the Christian Flag into the logo design. EYStudios helped us see the value of enhancing our branding within the context of the logo design. The message we ultimately wanted to send through our logo was captured as a result. Seeing the logo mature from design idea to final product was exciting.
Your Guy @ EY:
How'd we do in customer service, Craig?
Craig:
Beyond typical responsiveness to questions and timelines, I think I was most impressed with the way the EYStudios staff spent time listening to our ideas, asking the right questions to elicit our ultimate goal and refining our thinking about what we reallywanted to achieve. I think a great deal of potentially wasteful activity was eliminated on the front end through a frank and open dialogue. I especially appreciate the staff's ability to dialogue by phone and e-mail.
Your Guy @ EY:
Alright, so the Patriot is here! how's he been received?
Craig:
Our school's new EYStudios logo has been an off-the-charts success. Our school's athletic booster club is in the process of securing logo-affixed athletic wear for sale to our supporters, and we expect the proceeds of the sales to exceed by a wide margin our athletic budget requirements for the next year. Without our new logo, these products would simply not sell. Everyone wants to show off the new logo.
Your Guy @ EY:
Craig, thanks so much for your time. Anything else you'd like to add?
Craig:
We are very happy to recommend EYStudios to anyone looking for a professionally designed and packaged logo for their school.
